This was my first large scale design from architecture school that was also for my first school competition. The program required a mixed-use structure with a museum, shopping center, and apartments. This Brutalist, monolithic structure was designed from an abstracted CMU, which was the primary component of the construction and a requirement of the competition. The rigid, geometric form represents the modular brick shape while the masonry cores are represented and utilized for mobility, light penetration, and program functions.
