The caterpillar’s body is generated from an undulating form that creates seating for all ages and provides a crawl-through space for children to experience. The ribs themselves create natural slots for the existing building blocks to be stored, which was requested by the clients from the museum. The complex design was created using plywood ribs (CNC routered) that formed the primary structure of the body.
